Enjoy superb views of the Ushirotateyama Mountain Range Kurobe river source and Mount Suisho from the shop.
The shop's specialty Dried Firefly Squid (20g, 600 yen (tax included)) tops the sales charts every year.
Many repeat purchasers pick up the product when visiting the Alpine Route.
100% firefly squid landed at Toyama Bay, dried with natural salt, with innards broiled by a lighter... Mmm!!
A toaster oven or frying pan is of course also OK.

Soba corner: Kurobe Soba
"Kurobe Genryu Soba (1,400 yen (tax included)) is recommended at Kurobe Soba, a soba noodle shop with no fried foods on the menu. Delicious soup stock is topped with the bounty of mountains (mushroom), village areas (Japanese yam), and the sea (shredded kelp). The Kitsune Soba (1,000 yen (tax included)) with usuage tofu covering the soup stock is also popular. When passing through Kurobedaira Station, stop by for delicious soba noodles."

Recommended products
Arrowroot powder coats the outside. In the center, modestly sweet balls of bean paste have a texture similar to yokan sweets. These Japanese sweets express a simple image of Tateyama's refreshing coolness. In hot weather, they're even more delicious served chilled. Available in limited quantities at the Tateyama Station shop.
